Music At PHS

The music program at PHS has had a busy semester preparing for a variety of concerts. The jazz band, concert band, and concert choir had a great kick-off to their performing season at the Feeder School tour in November. They performed at William G. Davis and Clemens Mill for the grade 7-8 students, giving them a taste of the music program at Preston. The concert choir did a great job carolling at the annual Senior’s Dinner in mid-December, and made each senior smile with their angelic voices! The three music groups performed at the school’s Christmas Concert, impressing the audience with their festive tunes. These concerts have proved that the music program had a very successful performing season. “We are all very proud to be a part of Preston’s music program!” says PHS vocalist and alto sax player Kurtis Pilkington. The groups have competed at OVF (Ontario Vocal Fest) and currently await results of this competition. Bands await performances at Music Fest at the beginning of March.
