Preston High School’s Adventures in Wonderland

December 4th was your last chance to follow Alice down the rabbit hole into Wonderland.

Yes, After a few years of absence, Preston High School had their first main-stage production since 2012.

The play, which uniquely portrayed the original storybook tale of Alice in Wonderland, ran from December 2nd-4th at Preston High School. “I thought the play was super creative. I thought we did a really cool take on Alice in Wonderland because it was different ” said Alice in Wonderland tech crew member Erika Bout. “I feel like this play is kinda kickstarting the drama program again, since it’s the first big production that we’ve done in awhile.”

The production featured a cast of 24 people, with even more who worked on production and design. There was a wide array of student performers starring in the play such as Preston High School student, Sadie Snip as Alice, Kolton Sopha as the Mad Hatter, along with Josh Hinrichs as Tweedledum and Michael Cohn as Tweedledee.

Several members of the Preston High School staff were also involved with the process of bringing the story to the stage. Mrs. Wilson, Drama teacher, along with other Preston High School staff members such as Mrs. Benevides, Madame Leclair, and Music teacher Mrs. McCabe. Tickets costed $15 each for adults, $10 each for students and seniors, and the play was free for children under 10 years old.

“I was very impressed, it was very professional, everybody seemed to know what they were doing. For a school play I thought it was excellent. I had a great time watching my friends out on stage performing.” said theatre goer Charlotte Cleve. “I really miss doing makeup for Alice in Wonderland. I also, kinda miss a lot of the cast and crew, even though I’ve only known them for a few days.” said Alice in Wonderland makeup artist Kyra Hynes.
