Megan O. | Grade 12

"We Need to Talk About Charlie”

Q: Can you give a little preview of what your one act is about?

A: My one act is about an awkward family dinner. A girl is bringing home her significant other for Christmas to meet her family, but the family doesn't quite know how to react when her significant other ends up being a girl. I wanted to look at some of the stigma surrounding bisexuality, and the internalized prejudice that people can carry.

Q: What can the audience look forward to? A: The audience can look forward to an amazing night of shows. The one acts that were chosen are all very well written, and they all have relating themes. Every show can provide a life lesson.

Q: What is the night all about? A: The night is all about showcasing our talents. One acts are the summation of four years of drama classes, and we've all worked incredibly hard to get here. Asking high school kids to write and direct their own plays is no small task, and I'm incredibly proud and impressed with how things have turned out.

Come on out to see One Acts at Preston on April 7th and 8th @ 7pm. Tickets are $4.
